It all started with Agritopia®. After the rapid suburban expansion in Gilbert, Joe Johnston had a vision to create a community surrounding the history and tradition of the land in order to preserve the Johnston heritage. Agritopia® began development in 2000, establishing a present-day village with an emphasis on bringing people together.

Johnston & Co utilized and repurposed the original farmland purchased by Jim Johnston to establish an elevated community focused around agriculture. They have since created Barnone, a craftsman community hosted in the original farm barn, and Epicenter, an urban living experience with retail and restaurants.
